Multimedia University (MMU) is one of the top private university in Malaysia and it is in Tier 5 by MQA Rating System for Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. MMU known as top private university in Malaysia for the quality of education they provide to all of their students. MMU provides all the facilities for sport, educational, practical, social and technologies where students can take advantage and gain all the experience needed to be quality graduate students. There are students from all over the world,it great place to gain international experience.

MMU is known one of the top private university in Malaysia for its IT, Engineering, Financial Engineering, and for Management courses. There are many international students who are under government scholarship, these students are highly educated even before they come to MMU because their government choose the top level students to send to MMU. There are two campuses of MMU one in Cyberjaya and another one in Melaka.

In 2002, The Multimedia Learning System (MMLS) of MMU won the Asia Pacific MSC IT& Telecommunication Award (APMITTA) and the 2001 Asia Pacific Award for Best of Smart Learning Applications. During 2004, MMU secured four awards from the Ministry of Education, namely, the Highest Enrolment of Local Students, Excellence in R&D, the Highest Number of Courses Accredited, Special Award in Recognition of MMU's Overall Achievement.In film and video, the Westport Television Commercial Project by MMU students won the Silver Screen Awards at the International Film and Video Awards held in the US.

Locally, film and animation students from MMU also won several awards such as the Astro Next-gen Contenpreneur Awards in 2008 and 2009, especially in the field of visual effects.In engineering education, the AFEO Board conferred upon MMU the AFEO Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award 2007 for its achievements.

In 2009, MMU was ranked at 171 by THES-QS in the Asian University Rankings.[8] It is the first private university in Malaysia to achieve such a feat.MMU was rated tier 5 (Excellent) in the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education SETARA Rating in 2010 and 2011. This is the highest rating achieved by all institutions.
